IP
Video Surveillance - The Concept
These
software products for controlling video surveillance hardware
are based on the TCP/IP network protocol, which enables you to
build your own video surveillance system using standard video
and computer hardware. This reduces maintenance costs,
eases the amount of work for you, and protects your environment.
The software supplies the basis for highly efficient operations
of video monitoring and analysis, also opening up a wide
spectrum of opportunities for integrating with other business
applications in a company’s IT environment.
The
installation of such systems are very simple. Cameras are
directly plugged unto a Broad-Band Internet Routing via an
analogue to IP converter and/or built in IP transmitter. From
this stage, each camera has its own I address which when called
upon using special software show live video (depending on
bandwidth and/or network speed). A special
software links these addresses to a Graphical Map of the site(s)
to easily choose the cameras from a map-like diagram (see
presentation). When these cameras are chosen they display live
video (also called streaming video) to operators
CRT. The use of IP technology allows multiple users to
simultaneously view the live video and control the cameras much
like a website.
These
systems are ideal for Municipal Traffic Control System
Applications, LAN/WAN CCTV connectivity for Corporate and
Industrial Applications and in many cases Tele-Conferencing when
combined with a Voice Over IP (VOIP) Option. You an get a more
elaborate idea by choosing the links below.
